Insurance – Dental Insurance Options
As a courtesy to our patients, we are happy to help you by completing and filing insurance claims to maximize your coverage and flex spending. If your insurance company has questions or comments about the service you received in our office, we will provide them with documented proof of your visit, including x-rays and diagnostic reports.
It is important for each patient to understand their dental care coverage. In general, dental insurance has a deductible, which is a specified dollar amount that the insured party is required to pay before coverage kicks in. After the deductible is met, most plans have coverage allowances or co-pays for each specific dental service.
Many insurance companies also offer free or significantly discounted preventive care coverage, which means that you might have access to inexpensive procedures like dental exams, sealants, or basic restorations.
Many dental insurance carriers have strict service exclusions which may not be detailed on the insurance card itself; such exclusions often encompass anything classified as orthodontic care, cosmetic dentistry, or elective dentistry, including dental implants, teeth whitening, or dental bonding.
We encourage patients to contact their insurance company and request the details of their policy. Share what you learn with our office. If a needed dental service is not covered, our treatment coordinators will work closely with you to offer financing options to help meet your periodontal treatment needs
